Ultrafiltration (UF) Systems
Ultrafiltration (UF) is an advanced sediment filtration technology. Ultrafiltration package systems reduce feed water sediment to 0.01 micron and turbidity to 0.1 NTU by regulating flow and pressure through hollow fibre semipermeable membranes. These systems can be programmed to automate backwashing and include chemical clean in place system for efficient technician maintenance.
Ultrafiltration is an excellent technology for treating surface waters with turbidity issues. It is most commonly used for drinking water applications as it replaces the secondary coagulation, flocculation and sedimentation processes as well as tertiary sand filtration as a stand alone plant option in areas with growing populations. Ultrafiltration provides a compact plant size, consistent product water quality and is capable of 90-100% pathogen removal.
